Online dictionary of the Iradi language
Faculty of Philology and Journalism · Department of Iradi Language and Literature
The online dictionary of the Iradi language gives the meaning of Iradi words in English, with their spelling in the official alphabet, the press spelling where it differs, and the Cyrillic spelling of 1941–1992. The pilot edition of 2026 has 973 entries, drawn from the department's card index of words in current use, place names and the language of the press, the church and oral literature. Russian equivalents and more entries are added each term.

Using the dictionary
Headwords are in the official alphabet of 1995–1997: nouns in the nominative singular, verbs as the bare stem with a hyphen (ırda- “to sing”), suffixes with a leading hyphen (-ptır). Newspapers, English-language documents and most personal names keep the older digraphs ch, sh and ng, and English-language texts often write y for ı; you can search in either spelling. The source language of a borrowed word is given after the meaning, and dialect and register labels after that. See the notes on grammar and spelling.
